Rookie Rumble is a community-led cable wakeboarding competition series designed to make events feel welcoming, achievable and fun — for riders of all ages and abilities.
Created by The Peacock Brothers, Rookie Rumble removes the pressure and barriers that stop people from entering their first competition.
Rookie Rumble was founded by The Peacock Brothers; professional wakeboarders and coaches with a shared passion for growing the sport at grassroots level.
After years of competing and coaching around the world, Ryan & Liam saw the need for a more welcoming, accessible competition format.
Rookie Rumble was created to remove barriers, build confidence, and give every rider a positive first experience of competition.
Rookie Rumble is built around fair competition, not just performance.
HOW IT WORKS
Riders are grouped by skill level (beginner through to more advanced)
Within those skill levels, riders are also grouped by age categories
This avoids beginners riding against advanced riders
And avoids juniors, adults and older riders being judged in the same competitive group
WHY THIS KEEPS IT FAIR
Riders are judged against others with similar technical ability
Physical differences linked to age are taken into account
Progression is rewarded, not just difficulty
New riders can enter without feeling out-matched or out-of-place
